Canon has released an update for the EOS R3. Firmware version 2.1.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: * When using Camera Connect, please delete the camera's information from your smartphone's Bluetooth device list, then re-pair the devices. 1. Adds [Wi-Fi freq. band] to [Communication Settings], allowing the user to select the 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz band when transferring from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi. 2. Adds the ability to switch the group settings of a receiver camera from the sender camera when using the EOS Multi Remote app. 3. Fixes an issue that may cause Err49 to be displayed repeatedly during communication with an SFTP server. 4. Improves other system stability. If the camera's firmware is already version 2.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Please perform the firmware update with only the firmware file to be updated stored on the memory card. Canon has released firmware version 1.2.1 for the EOS R3 – its current flagship full frame mirrorless camera – in response to user feedback and requests. UPDATE: Firmware version 1.2.0 originally offered the improvements below, but was  pulled shortly after release as a bug which affects the mode dial was identified. Most notably, the frame rate of the R3 for both stills and video has been significantly enhanced. A new custom high-speed setting allows for still images to be shot continuously at up to 195 frames per second (fps) at full resolution in JPEG, HEIF or RAW. For video, it's possible to shoot at 240p in high frame rate mode in Full HD, which can be used for smooth slow motion. There are other improvements, such as in-camera focus stacking for images taken using the Focus Bracketing feature, plus access to Canon's new Cloud RAW processing feature and the ability to assign crop ratios to a custom button. Firmware version 1.1.1 for the Canon EOS R3 camera incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Adds the ability to use Smartphone link adapter AD-P1. 2. Adds the ability, when using EOS Utility or Browser Remote for remote shooting with two cards inserted, to set the recording method and select the card to be recorded to. 3. Adds the ability to cancel [Subject Tracking] by pressing the Quick Control and then <INFO> buttons. 4. Adds Ukrainian as an option to the language of 'Browser Remote'. 5. Improves operation stability during FTP transfer. 6. Fixes an issue that in rare instances, the camera may become inoperable when shooting in the Servo AF setting while operating the <AF-ON> button. 7. Firmware version 1.1.0 for the Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L IS USM incorporates the following improvement: • Improves performance of the image stabilisation when using the electronic shutter of the EOS R3 camera during still image shooting. Version 1.1.0 is for lenses with firmware versions up to Version 1.0.9. If the lens' firmware is already v1.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.   Today Canon officially unveils the EOS R3, its new flagship full frame mirrorless camera aimed at sports photographers and reportage journalists. It's fast and furious, incredibly well-connected and offers more than 100 tweaks, improvements and new features over previous cameras. The EOS R3 is a blend of the EOS-1D X Mark III and the EOS R5. First announced in April, Canon has revealed more information about its professional full frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R3. After teasing in the first press release that a new subject type is coming for the autofocus detection system, Canon has confirmed that the EOS R3 will be able to track moving cars and motorbikes, making it an ideal tool for motorsports photographers. This is in addition to the two current subjects – people and animals – that the EOS R5 and R6 have already showcased. Canon has also teased that the EOS R3 will be able to achieve focus down to EV -7, giving even greater opportunities in low light situations.
