Canon has announced that there will shortly be firmware updates for a number of its EOS R-series mirrorless and PowerShot digital cameras. With this announcement, Canon reaffirms its commitment to continuous product innovation. The updates have been developed in response to real-world feedback from creators and photographers, and promise to deliver additional features and performance enhancements, helping customers get even more from the cameras they already own. In particular, the EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II will gain button customisation for pre-continuous shooting, following feedback from professional sports photographers, colour temperature memory for four K-values, while five of the range feature Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection improvements to make 5GHz available to more applications, and many detailed improvements.   Canon has announced two new video-centric additions to the EOS R mirrorless system: the EOS R6 V camera and the RF 20-50mm f4L IS USM PZ lens. The EOS R6 V sits at the top of Canon's current V-series line-up, offering an advanced tool for serious content creators. Offering a 32.5MP full frame sensor equipped with Canon's latest sensor-based focusing system, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with subject-based detection, its video-centric design and features offer a user-friendly path into video creation. Canon has released details today of three new and updated accessories for the EOS system. • Bluetooth Remote  BR-E2 This updated wireless remote for the EOS system is physically the same size as its predecessor, but offers extra functionality. It's backwards-compatible and usefully can be registered to up to five cameras at a time, though it can still only control one at a time.  The BR-E2 offers a separate video recording button in addition to the two-stage shutter button. There's also a lever in the centre which can be used to operate the lens zoom or for adjusting exposure compensation, which replaces the buttons on the BR-E1.
