Canon has released details of the Speedlite EL-5, a high-performance flashgun for capturing weddings and events. Offering the same intuitive design as the EL-1 as well as an equivalent guide number of 60, the Speedlite EL-5 promises to be a powerful and versatile creative light tool for single- and multi-flash set-ups. The EL-5 boasts a number of firsts, including the new multi-function foot to pair with the recently introduced multi-function hotshoe of cameras like the EOS R3, plus a new on-flash button which takes you straight into the camera’s flash menu for instant control. Canon today announces the addition of four new lenses to its EOS R full frame mirrorless system, significantly extending the options available. The lenses introduced are the RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L IS USM lens, already announced earlier this year, plus two super telephoto lenses – the RF 600mm f11 IS STM and RF 800mm f11 IS STM – and the RF 85mm f2 MACRO IS STM lens. Canon has announced the EOS Ra – its first full frame camera for astronomical photography. The EOS Ra stands unique in the market – unlike other full frame astro cameras, it is portable and has no need for external power and connection to a computer, resulting in exceptional image quality of visible reality but also of deep space photography with a wide range of optical devices.
