Further delays to Canon lenses

Two new EF lenses, expected in 2011, have been delayed. The lenses are the: - EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM - EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM Canon says that revised shipping dates will be made available as soon as possible. There is also no date for the availability of the new EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender l.4x lens. The EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender l.4x is being developed with an integrated extender that increases the maximum focal length to 560mm for sports and wildlife photography. High-quality images with high levels of resolution and contrast will be possible through the use of advanced optical materials such as fluorite crystal. The new lens will also include dust- and water-resistant construction designed for extended usage under harsh conditions. Canon lenses at Calument roadshow

EOS 5D Mark II firmware update

Firmware for the EOS 5D Mark II has been updated to version 2.1.1. This incorporates the following fixes and improvements. 1. Fixes a phenomenon where shooting stops after capturing one image when in continuous shooting or the Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) continuous shooting setting. 2. Launch of Cinema EOS System

Canon is entering the motion picture production industry with the launch of the Cinema EOS System. This new professional digital cinematography system spans the lens, digital video camcorder and digital SLR camera product categories. Winter cashbacks on EOS cameras

Canon is offering a £50 cashback on the EOS 600D and £40 on the EOS 550D this winter. The cameras must be purchased from participating retailers and etailers between Thursday 3 November 2011 and Wednesday 25 January 2012. Claims must be made by Friday 24 February 2012.
