Canon has released updated firmware for the EOS R7 and EOS R10 APS-C mirrorless cameras, adding support for the Speedlite EL-5 and newly released RF-S 55-210mm f5-7.1 IS STM lens.  Firmware version 1.3.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Adds support for Speedlite EL-5.* *The automatic light intensity adjustment of the AF-assist beam is not supported. 2. Adds support for the RF-S 55-210mm f5-7.1 IS STM. 3. Fixes minor issues. The firmware can be downloaded and installed via the Canon support page, and also via the Canon Camera Connect v3 app on a compatible smart device. Canon has released details of the Speedlite EL-5, a high-performance flashgun for capturing weddings and events. Offering the same intuitive design as the EL-1 as well as an equivalent guide number of 60, the Speedlite EL-5 promises to be a powerful and versatile creative light tool for single- and multi-flash set-ups. The EL-5 boasts a number of firsts, including the new multi-function foot to pair with the recently introduced multi-function hotshoe of cameras like the EOS R3, plus a new on-flash button which takes you straight into the camera’s flash menu for instant control.
