Canon has released a number of firmware updates to correct for a phenomenon in which when using an EOS camera with the EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to 'Enable', no correction will be applied. Firmware Version 1.0.2 incorporates the following fixes and improvements. 1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the AF does not function and the shutter cannot be released during Live-view shooting when the Speedlite 270EX II is attached. 2. Firmware Version 1.0.1 for the EOS 600D incorporates the following fixes and changes: 1. Clarifies the feature guide description of the digital zoom function for movie-shooting that appears on the camera's LCD monitor; 2. Fixes a phenomenon in which, in rare cases, a computer connected to the camera with a USB cable cannot recognize the camera. The firmware upgrade can be installed by the user. Canon has launched the EOS 600D – a compact, lightweight digital SLR. The camera sits at the top of Canon’s entry-level EOS line-up, above the existing EOS 550D and the new EOS 1100D.
