Canon Europe has announced that it will shortly be releasing firmware updates for the EOS R5, EOS R6 and EOS-1D X Mark III cameras. Following the recent launch of the EOS R3, Canon will add some of the R3's revolutionary features to other cameras in its current professional line-up. Subject tracking improvements For the R5 and R6 mirrorless cameras, the firmware update will add 'Vehicles' to the Subject detection AF system. An innovation first delivered with the EOS R3, this means that the EOS R5 and R6 will be able to track racing cars and bikes in addition to animals and people. The update also enhances the overall AF tracking performance of people, with improved eye and face detection even when the subject is wearing a mask, as well as adding body detection. Strengthening the autofocus system within the EOS-1D X Mark III for winter sports, the firmware provides improved head detection for subjects wearing goggles and helmets.
