Canon has announced a new camera in the full-frame line-up. The EOS R8 Mark II is a marked upgrade to the original R8 which was launched in February 2023, plus it's sporting a new angular SLR heritage-inspired look. The distinctly modern design marks a new chapter in the EOS R System. Canon says that the "EOS R8 Mark II carries forward [its] design heritage while evolving it into a more contemporary form that meets the needs and preferences of today's photographers and creators". The EOS R8 Mark II boasts a number of improvements over the original R8. Firstly it offers in-body image stabilisation (IBIS), up to a maximum of 7.5 stops benefit of co-ordinated control in conjunction with Canon lenses. It also fixes one of the bugbears we had at EOS HQ with the original – a lack of Multi-controller – giving you instant control over the position of your AF point.
