EOS R3 firmware update 1.9.0

Firmware Version 1.9.0 for the Canon EOS R3 camera incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Improves security features. A password must be set initially. •Adds the ability to review the history of any changes made to the password, network information, or other settings. *For more information, please refer to the 'Setting a Password' section in the Advanced User Guide on cam.start.canon . 2. Enables firmware updates to be performed when the camera is connected to the internet and new firmware is made available on Canon servers. 3. Adds a function that simultaneously protects images when they are rated. 4. Adds the ability to use up to 8TB of CFexpress cards. Note - Cards larger than 8TB require low-level formatting by the camera. - Cards larger than 8TB are treated as 8TB cards. - Cards larger than 2TB cannot be used for firmware updating. 5. EOS R3 firmware update 1.8.0

  Firmware Version 1.8.0 for the EOS R3 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Adds [Protect Images] and [Rating] during FTP Transfer. 2. Adds the ability to select [Wired] as a connection option when [Airplane mode] is set to [On]. 3. The following issues have been fixed.  3-1.Fixes an issue, in which when Wi-Fi is disconnected, Err 70 occurs.  3-2.Fixes an issue, in which when shooting subjects that are smaller in the frame, the card access indicator blinks and operations can no longer be performed.  3-3.Fixes an issue, in which while operating both the touch function on the LCD monitor and a customised button, and then performing shooting, operations can no longer be performed.  3-4.Fixes an issue, in which when performing shooting in high-speed continuous shooting + mode with the [Highlight Tone Priority] option set to [ON], focus may not be achieved when certain ISO speed settings are used. Firmware updates for EOS-1D X Mark III, R3, R5, R6 Mark II and R8

Firmware updates have been introduced for five Canon EOS cameras.  EOS-1D X Mark III: firmware version 1.8.0 1. Adds the ability to register the focus position in the preset functions of the CR-A100 Camera Remote Application. When used with the Robotic Camera System CR-S700R, it helps the user to focus on the intended subject distance when shooting. 2. Firmware update version 1.4.1 for EOS R3

Firmware Version 1.4.1 for the EOS R3 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Adds support for Speedlite EL-5.* *The automatic light intensity adjustment of the AF-assist beam is not supported. 2. Adds [Register people priority] to the camera menu. EOS R3 and R5 firmware sets new standards

Canon Europe today announces firmware updates for the EOS R3 and EOS R5 in response to feedback and requests from users. For the EOS R3, firmware version 1.4.0 means capturing fast-moving subjects is easier than ever before with Panning Assist, while firmware v1.8.1 for the EOS R5 offers enhanced resolution. Canon also announces new features coming to its Mobile File Transfer app, making it even more user-friendly and adaptable to workflows. With the Panning Assist function, image stabilisation and subject blur correction can be applied during exposure. This improves the number of successful panning shots a photographer can capture, while using shutter speeds up to two stops slower than previously possible, with the ability to retain sharp details. It’s not just lightning-fast motorsport shots that this upgrade supports.
