Canon software and MacOS Sierra

As a number of photographers have discovered, some Canon software is not fully compatible with the new MacOS Sierra operating system. Canon is aware of the problems and has published information here: http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/operating_system_information/ In brief, EOS Utility 2 will not connect via USB or Wi-Fi. Canon hopes to have updated software available by the end of December 2016. EOS Utility 3 will not connect via USB. Canon hopes to have updated software available by the end of January 2017. Map Utility will not connect via USB. Canon hopes to have updated software available by the end of December 2016.

Updates for DPP, EOS Utility and Picture Style Editor

Canon has updated some of their software. Digital Photo Profession version 4.5.10 adds support for the EOS M5, EF-M 18-150mm f3.5-6.3 IS STM, EF 24-105mm f4L IS II USM and EF 16-35mm f2.8L III USM. It also improves the accuracy of the Digital Lens Optimiser lens data for the EF 35mm f1.4L II USM. EOS Utility version 3.5.10 adds support for the EOS M5, EF 24-105mm f4L IS II USM and EF 16-35mm f2.8L III USM. Picture Style Editor version 1.17.10 adds support for the EOS M5. EOS Movie Utility version 1.6 adds support for the EOS 5D Mark IV. To download updates for Windows or Mac OS X go to www.canon.co.uk/support , enter your camera model and select the 'Software' tab. Check that the updates are suitable for your computer and operating system configuration.
