EOS-1D X available from end of April 2012

Canon has announced that the EOS-1D X will be available from end of April 2012, priced at £5,299.00/€6,299.00 RRP incl. VAT. The culmination of 40 years’ experience in developing professional cameras, the EOS-1D X is Canon’s most advanced EOS model ever produced, offering photographers an unparalleled combination of speed, resolution and image quality to capture stills and Full HD movies. New EF 500mm and 600mm lenses available May 2012

The EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM and EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM lenses will be available to from May 2012. The EF 500mm lens will be priced at £8,999.00/€10,799.00 RRP incl. VAT. The EF 600mm lens will be priced at £11,299.00/ €13,549.00 RRP incl. VAT. Designed to meet the needs of the sports and wildlife photographers, both lenses offer excellent performance, delivering high-quality images. Firmware version 2.1.2 for EOS 5D Mark II

Firmware version 2.1.2 for the EOS 5D Mark II incorporates the following change:  - optimizes the camera’s performance when using certain UDMA 7-compatible CF cards released in February 2012 or later. Three new lenses

Canon has announced three new lenses. The EF 24-70mm f2.8L II USM zoom is an update to the EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM, while the EF 24mm f2.8 IS USM and EF 28mm f2.8 IS USM are the world’s first (according to Canon research as of February 2012) wide-angle prime lenses to feature optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology.
