Firmware updates for EOS 7D and 550D

Firmware version 1.2.3 for the EOS 7D incorporates the following fixes.     1.    Fixes a phenomenon in which the settings of the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 revert to the default settings when both the camera and the ST-E2 are set to auto power off.     2.    Fixes a phenomenon in which the Macro Ring Lites (MR-14EX, MT24-EX) and slave flashes do not sync while shooting wirelessly. Firmware version 1.0.9 for the EOS 550D incorporates the following fix.     1.    Fixes a phenomenon in which tone jumps become noticeable in some images, depending on the shooting scene, when shooting with the Auto Lighting Optimizer settings (Low / Standard / Strong). Introduction of lenses delayed

Canon has delayed the introduction of the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM and EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM. These lenses were announced on 26 August 2010 and originally scheduled for introduction in January 2011. However, due to some adjustments in the manufacturing process the lenses are now scheduled for release in March 2011.
