Firmware update v1.3.1 for Canon EOS R5

Firmware Version 1.3.1 for the Canon EOS R5 incorporates the following fix: • Fixes a phenomenon, in which when shooting with Canon Log 3, if the [View Assist.] setting is set to [On], the image in the viewfinder and on the LCD screen is displayed brighter than it should be. To download the firmware, visit the Canon Support site . Instructions are included with the download. It also incorporates the fixes and enhancements introduced with version 1.3.0 , launched in March 2021. These were as follows: 1. Adds [Canon Log 3] to [Canon Log settings]. You can select [Canon Log] or [Canon Log 3] from [Canon Log settings] in the Shooting tab of the menu. - Support for RAW movies shot with Canon Log 3 and RAW (Light) will be available in Cinema RAW Development and in Digital Photo Professional version in a future update. - Digital Photo Professional will also support the processing of RAW movies shot in Canon Log 3 settings and the application of Viewing LUT in a future update. 2. Canon development announcement: EOS R3 camera

Canon has released initial details about its next planned full frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R3. Currently in development, the EOS R3 will be Canon's latest professional camera for sports and news photographers and promises to offer lightning speeds and ultimate focusing control. Here are five teasers from Canon: • A newly developed BSI stacked CMOS sensor, combined with a new generation DIGIC X processor, will deliver 30 frames per second (fps) shooting speeds with the electronic shutter, with AF/AE tracking. • Next-generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF will build on the focusing capabilities of the EOS R5 and R6 cameras, adding a new, yet-to-be unveiled subject to the eye, head and body tracking AI. • Eye Control Function, first seen on the EOS 5 film SLR, will make a digital debut with the EOS R3. Three new Canon RF lenses announced

Canon has announced three new lenses for its EOS R ful frame mirrorless system. Taking leaves straight out of the EF lens book, the RF 100mm f2.8L MACRO IS USM, the RF 400mm f2.8L IS USM and RF 600mm f4L IS USM lenses all offer photographers 'next-level capabilities'. The RF 100mm f2.8L MACRO IS USM lens brings a world first for an AF macro lens – offering 1.4x magnification of subjects, bringing greater than life-size reproduction of small subjects. Like the EF 100mm f2.8L MACRO IS USM lens, it's a versatile piece of kit, whether you capture close-up and macro or portraits. It's also the first Canon lens to feature a Spherical Aberration Control ring, which delivers even greater creative control over background and foreground bokeh. Firmware update v1.3.1 for EOS R6 camera

Following the release, and subsequent suspension, of firmware version 1.3.0, Canon has now released v1.3.1 for the EOS R6 camera which incorporates the new features offered by v1.3, and fixes to phenomena. Firmware version 1.3.1 incorporates the following fixes and enhancements: 1. Adds [IPB (Light)] to 4K to enable lower bit rate shooting. 2. Adds [Electronic full-time MF] to the AF tab of the menu. When a lens is attached, manual focus adjustment is always possible with both One-shot AF and Servo AF. 3. The transfer time (estimated value) now displays on the camera monitor during FTP transfer. 4.
