Canon has released the final wave of firmware updates to fix the potential security flaw relating to the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) originally identified in August 2019. The final EOS cameras to receive the fix are as follows: Canon EOS 77D – version 1.0.3 Canon EOS 800D/Rebel T7i – version 1.0.2 Canon EOS 750D/Rebel T6i – version 1.0.1 Canon EOS 200D/Rebel SL2 –  version 1.0.1 Canon EOS 2000D – version 1.0.1 Canon EOS 4000D – version 1.0.1 Canon EOS 1300D – version 1.1.1 Canon EOS M6 – version 1.0.1 Canon EOS M5 – version 1.0.2 Canon EOS M3 – version 1.2.1 Canon EOS M2 – version 1.0.4 Canon EOS M10 – version 1.1.1 Canon EOS M100 – version 1.0.1 The firmware updates offer the following fixes: 1. Corrects a PTP communications vulnerability. 2. Corrects a vulnerability related to firmware update. Canon has released a number of firmware updates to correct for a phenomenon in which when using an EOS camera with the EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to 'Enable', no correction will be applied. Canon has issued a firmware update v1.0.2 for the EOS 1300D (Rebel T6) which corrects a phenomenon in which when using the camera with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to 'Enable', correction will not be applied. Firmware Version 1.0.2 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.1. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.2, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
