Canon has released a number of firmware updates to correct for a phenomenon in which when using an EOS camera with the EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to 'Enable', no correction will be applied. Firmware version 1.2.3 for the EOS 7D incorporates the following fixes.     1.    Fixes a phenomenon in which the settings of the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 revert to the default settings when both the camera and the ST-E2 are set to auto power off.     2.    Fixes a phenomenon in which the Macro Ring Lites (MR-14EX, MT24-EX) and slave flashes do not sync while shooting wirelessly. Firmware version 1.0.9 for the EOS 550D incorporates the following fix.     1.    Fixes a phenomenon in which tone jumps become noticeable in some images, depending on the shooting scene, when shooting with the Auto Lighting Optimizer settings (Low / Standard / Strong).
