Firmware update v1.0.1 for EOS 200D (Rebel SL2)

Canon has released a firmware update for its smallest current DSLR camera, the EOS 200D (Rebel SL2). Firmware Version 1.0.1 incorporates the following fix:

1. Corrects an erroneous display that may appear when some third-party accessories are attached to the hot shoe.

Firmware Version 1.0.1 is for cameras with firmware Version 1.0.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.1, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

AA:Where is Canon heading with the EOS R system?

MB: That's still to be defined, but the plan is to develop the system in both directions. With the EOS RP we've gone towards an entry-level full-frame camera, which is a very large market. It was a bit of curve ball because everyone seemed to have expected a high-end model.

Canon announces EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II

Canon Europe has launched two high-speed, high resolution cameras – one DSLR and one M-series mirrorless – designed to take enthusiast photographers to the next skill level.

Same on the inside, but designed for different users and purposes, the EOS 90D (DSLR) and EOS M6 Mark II (mirrorless) are both equipped with Canon’s latest generation DIGIC 8 processor, brand new 32.5MP CMOS sensor, standard connectivity tools (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), 4K video in conjunction with Canon’s powerful Dual Pixel CMOS AF, plus Eye detection AF.
