Firmware update version 1.4.1 for EOS R3

Firmware Version 1.4.1 for the EOS R3 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Adds support for Speedlite EL-5.* *The automatic light intensity adjustment of the AF-assist beam is not supported. 2. Adds [Register people priority] to the camera menu. Netflix approves Canon EOS R5 C for production

Firmware update for the EOS R5 C

Firmware version 1.0.3.1 for the EOS R5 C incorporates the following enhancements: 1. Improves the image quality of Canon Log 3 when shooting in XF-AVC or MP4 formats. Precautions • Please use an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card that is 512MB or greater to perform the firmware update. • Firmware update must be performed in VIDEO mode. • After the firmware update has been performed, the camera's menu settings will be reset. It is recommended that, prior to starting update operations, users save their menu settings as settings data to an SD card, separate from the one that will be used to carry out the update. This saved data can be loaded into the camera and the settings can be changed after the update has been completed. EOS R3 and R5 firmware sets new standards

Canon Europe today announces firmware updates for the EOS R3 and EOS R5 in response to feedback and requests from users. For the EOS R3, firmware version 1.4.0 means capturing fast-moving subjects is easier than ever before with Panning Assist, while firmware v1.8.1 for the EOS R5 offers enhanced resolution. Canon also announces new features coming to its Mobile File Transfer app, making it even more user-friendly and adaptable to workflows. With the Panning Assist function, image stabilisation and subject blur correction can be applied during exposure. This improves the number of successful panning shots a photographer can capture, while using shutter speeds up to two stops slower than previously possible, with the ability to retain sharp details. Revised firmware for EOS R6

A few days after firmware version 1.8.0 was released for the EOS R6 it was stopped from downloading. Canon confirmed that Err 70 was being displayed under certain conditions. Customers who have already updated to version 1.8.0 are advised to  update to version 1.8.1, now available.
