Firmware Version 1.0.2 for the EOS-1D X Mark II offers the following improvements and fixes. 1. Incorporates countermeasures for a phenomenon in which the bottom part of still images recorded to SanDisk CFast cards become corrupted. 2. Enhances communication reliability between the camera and CFast cards. If you are using the affected CFast cards, after having updated the camera firmware to Firmware Version 1.0.2, make sure to use the camera to format the CFast card. Canon has confirmed that when shooting still images with the EOS-1D X Mark II using some SanDisk CFast cards, the bottom part of still images recorded may be corrupted. This phenomenon happens in images recorded in both RAW and JPEG formats. In the RAW file, the image corruption may appear in the bottom right corner of the image. In the JPEG file, the image corruption may appear in the lower third area of the image. Movie recording is not affected. Still images or movies recorded to CF cards are not affected. This problem is caused by some SanDisk CFast cards, not the camera. Canon is working on a firmware update to overcome the problem and this should be available for download in early July 2016.

Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.2 adds support for the EOS-1D X Mark II, 80D and 1300D - but only if you are running OS X El Capitan 10.11. You can download the 8.1MB software at: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1882?locale=en_US

Sigma has released a press release about the compatibility of some of their lenses with the EOS-1D X Mark II "We have found that some Sigma interchangeable lenses for Canon are not fully compatible with EOS-1D X Mark II. When certain lenses are attached to this camera, exposure of the image may not be accurate.  "When the lenses listed below are used and either Evaluative Metering or Centre-weighted Average Metering is selected, the image could show some underexposure. •  Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art •  Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art •  Sigma 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM We are currently working on the firmware update for respective lenses, and the release dates will be announced later.
