Canon releases new Dual fisheye lens – RF-S 3.9mm f3.5 STM – for 3D VR creation

Canon has announced the new RF-S 3.9mm f3.5 STM DUAL FISHEYE, an APS-C virtual reality (VR) lens for the EOS R System. Canon promises that new lens will make it easy for anyone, including newcomers, to create 3D virtual reality footage.   The RF-S 3.9mm f3.5 STM DUAL FISHEYE provides a left and right perspective, neatly combined into one compact dual fisheye optical design. At launch, it's compatible with the Canon EOS R7 camera via firmware update.   The 144º recording angle provides a narrower field-of-view compared to VR180 shooting which is possible with the first lens of this type, the RF 5.2mm f2.8L IS USM Dual Fisheye lens. This, alongside the large depth of field, makes it easy for users to set up and keep attention on their subject – with less concern about supporting equipment, such as lighting or tripods making it into the shot.  The RF-S 3.9mm f3.5 STM DUAL FISHEYE is the first 3D lens with Autofocus (AF) from Canon, with a One Shot Autofocus (AF) setting to further sim

Canon USA announces development of next RF-S Dual lens for VR

After capturing video with the interchangeable lens, the EOS VR Utility app transforms the video captured to spatial video, which can then be watched on Apple Vision Pro. The RF-S 7.8mm f4 STM Dual lens features a field angle that is similar to a person’s field-of-view. The lens is also equipped with a high-speed autofocus (AF) mechanism, making it accessible to a range of users with differing experience levels. Canon launched the EOS VR System for capturing immersive and V
