Following Canon's announcement in August 2019 that it was working on firmware for a number of its cameras to address a security flaw associated with the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP), it has now released firmware for the following cameras: Canon EOS 6D – version 1.1.9 Canon EOS 6D Mark II – version 1.0.5 Canon EOS 7D Mark II – version 1.1.3 Canon EOS 70D – version 1.1.3 Canon EOS 80D – version 1.0.3 Canon EOS M50 – version 1.0.3 Canon EOS M6 Mark II – version 1.0.1 Canon EOS 250D (Rebel SL3) – version 1.0.2 Canon EOS 760D (Rebel T6s) – version 1.0.1 The firmware updates offer the following fixes: 1. Corrects a PTP communications vulnerability. 2. Corrects a vulnerability related to firmware update. When updating the firmware, please review the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.
